She placed her right hand to the stone Slab before her. Multiple Talismans were placed upon it, a light glow emanating from the enchanted paper. The Stone had two engravings upon it, “Roy”. The first engraving, the name of a Foreigner. A Foreigner who followed all of Japan's teachings, except one: the one forbidding those of distant lands to live on Japanese soil. Below the name, a quote was written in a different Language. No Japanese Man, Women, Child, or Elder could read it. “Roy...I love you.” She whispered. She felt a tear race down her cheek, and a smile run across her lips. “I love you so much. Even after all these years, I love you.” The woman smiled, and sat on her knees. She looked at the stone, her eyes filled with tears. Her smile, however, was still there. “I remember how you would smile. You would always hold your right hand over your mouth, as if covering a cough, and chuckle deeply.” While saying so, she demonstrated it, and giggled in-between. “I remember how you would occasionally speak your Native tongue accidentally. It was always funny, yet intriguing.“ She wiped the tears from her eyes. “But most of all, I remember how you would smile to me, no matter the situation. When my Father's men found you, and brought you to the castle. When my Father ordered your...execution. Even when you successfully escaped the once esteemed 'Fortress of Japan'. You always smiled when you were around me.” The woman said, her downpour of tears growing ever-more. “Bu...But why is it, while I ran away with you or while you were his prisoner, you never grew angry at me? Not after I yelled at you, or after the four times you saved my life. You were always kind.” She wept, the tears streamed down her face like an elegant curtain. “Most of all...why did you leave me if you were so happy? Why did you go to sea, and never return?” The woman looked at the strange letters carved into the stone. “Why did you say you must go to protect what you loved?” The Woman held her face in the palm of her hands, and she continued to mourn. Behind the woman, on the horizon, the sun began to rise. As it rose, light illuminated the stone slab before her. She continued to cry, her face covered with her hands. She looked up to the slab, its flat surface reflecting the light to her left. She looked left, wiping her eyes. Before her, the incomprehensible letters formed a recognizable pattern. She could not understand the words, but She had seen Roy speak and show her the phrase that was before her. “I...Love...You...” She said. The foreign language baffled her, but somehow, the three words calmed her, and gave her comfort. “ This was it,” She thought. “This was why.” “Because of,” She started off in Japanese, ending with the Alien words, “I love you.”
