Official Ending of website construction!
That's Right! Cuin Studios is officially done. You will be happy to know that I have all of the chapters up for In Game and Pixelated, and Combat Log will be up and running as soon as i get an updated copy of it from Zen What a momentus occasion it is to FINALLY have this website customized to the extent that i can randomly put links, pictures, etc. into the page, and know whats going on with the coding as well! :D
To mark this occasion, I am proud to show you an email conversation I had reecently with a Karen Gray. Keep in mind i have been in and out of school this past week due to pain in my back. Long story short, i have back problems. Whoopiee~ (Sarcastically said). Either way, I was contacted by her about the Name Cuin. After all, Cuin is such an unusual name, and actually has an origin, both in the world meaning, and in my meaning.
I have been using the Name Cuin since i was in 5th grade, in elementary school. I was trying to come up with an alias I could use with all my video games, an alias unique and unused. After all, I was raised during the age of the console, and one had to make a name for their specific Save file, usually referring to the main characters name. I first came up with Manari, and then Daruin....which I liked both, but still had yet to grow completely attatched to them. Plus, at the time, i was writing a story for fun, and thus wanted to find a name for the hero. Thus, I came up with the name CUIN one morning on the school bus, as funny and true as it may be. It just popped in my head. For a long time, i beleived Cuin was a racist slurr. However, i was wrong, due to the fact that the racist slurr is spelled differently, as shown by Karen Gray in our E-mail conversation, as well as shown the worldy origin of the name Cuin
*Ahem*,
"
In the second
Century, a Munster nobleman named Mogh Nuadat had
grievances with the Ard Righ (High King) Conn Cead Caha (Conn of a Hundred
Battles). He took arms against Conn, and was nearly killed as his army
was
driven to the sea. But a number of friendly ships were offshore, and
he and
his army were rescued. From there, they proceeded to Spain where they
stayed
for several years as guests of King Emhir. Mogh was married to the King's
daughter Beara. The king later furnished Mogh with several thousand soldiers
for an invasion of Ireland. Mogh returned with his Spanish allies and
the
remnants of his army, and began a campaign against Conn. In battle after
battle Mogh's forces routed Conn's. A decisive battle was planned for
Cruachan in Connaught. However, Conn violated the accepted rules of warfare
by attacking Mogh at night before the appointed time of battle. In the
maylay, Mogh was slain.
This apparent "victory" was shortlived as the chieftains on
both sides
of the battle lost all respect for Conn, because of his treacherous
behavior. A treaty was drawn up dividing Ireland between the two forces
with
the northern half designated as Leath Cuin (Con's Half), and Eoghan's
southern half was designated Leath Mogha (Mogh's Half). Conn was also
forced
to give the hand of his daughter Sabhia to Mogh's son Eoghan Mor. From
this
union came all the kings of Ireland for the next 1000 years." -Karen
Gray
Karen sent me this in an email, as well as her explanation with her
interest in my alias. She had named her son Cuin. Initially, I was suprized.
Suprized that such a random similarity had formed between people with
entirely different backrounds.
However, as she explained, "You state
that you are a teenager; my son is 17. Perhaps there
is some truth to cataclysmic creativity (there is no such thing as “unique” creative
thought; ideas will usually occur simultaneously to a number of people
in different places without any connection or reason for it happening),
if you are around the same age? That might explain how two people
of the same generation suddenly have this uncommon name spelled the same
way."
I beleive she has a good point. After all, similarities appear in
the most unusual places. Heck, i would dare say that everything we know
has come from a distinctive pattern, be it seen or unseen. After all, that
is the simplest way of looking at knowledge - Patterns.
I'm rambling, so It would be best to summarize this before i went on a
rant. I have noticed throughout my life that everything has a pattern -
be them seen or unseen. For example, Everything has an opposite, be them
known or unknown. There is matter, and anti-matter. positive and negative.
Nerd and Jock. And this, "Cataclysmic Creativity" is one of those patterns.
Either way, I wanted to share that little peice of history and random similarities
to commemorate the rebirth (AGAIN) of cuin studios.

P.S. Random little video I would like to add in here. It is an amazing video on the greatness of Video Games and Sex. And dont worry, it isnt warped. It just talked about the topic at a very educational and artistical viewpoint. Now, TO PLAY MASS EFFECT! Warning - May not be suitable for minors. And knowing half my friends anyways, they will still ignore what i just said.

Epic news of epic proportions
Well, its been a while since i updated the blog, so lets start it off with
an update of what i have been doing for the past week.
-Playing Video Games
-Working occasionally
-Doing good in school, without really trying
Now, time for the REAL news. First of all, I would like to give a congradulations to my childhood friend Charlie Haynes! The lucky bastard is getting married soon. Now, before you start saying "WTF" in your computer chairs, I gotta say this - Charlie and his girl have been dating for...eh, 7-8 years? Well, i have no idea, but a freakin long time. It was originally an online relationship, but charlie moved as soon as he got outta high school to go live with his love. And, amazingly enough, Charlie re-established contact with me via facebook. Either way, Charlie is one lucky son-of-a gun. It takes pure dedication and love to stay in a relationship that long, and keep it thriving. Ill be honest, I lack the ability to be suprizing. It's one of my many flaws. Anyways, Charlie invited me to his wedding. THus, i have to scrounge up some cash to get my arse to his town, get a hotel room, get a suit, etc. Currently, I'm screwed with cash. Since i was unemployed for a month, I had to dig into my savings to look for a job. thus, i had to take about 600 bucks out of my savings. Thus, i already owe myself 600 in my view. So, as a personal goal, i want to make 1600 Dollars in 23 weeks. Insane you ask? Well, so am I. I'm already job hunting to scrounge up cash, and cut myself off from nerd nessesities (Like game rentals, new programs, and other pricey forms of data) to be able to fund this cause. Thus, Please, wish my friend Charlie well. After all, I want to make it to his wedding, but it doesnt hurt to say "Congradulations" to a stranger!
Secondly, while applying for a job, I called Teri (otherwise known as Tatou) to ask if i could use her as a reference. After all, we have been friends for quite sime time. She didn't mind at all, and reminded me of my friends back on WoW. I must admit, I miss WOW. I miss everyone from Rebel Scum, such as Teri, Eddie, and jake. However, i'm kinda in a bind right now. As you just read, i have to scrounge up a lotta cash in 23 weeks. thus, sadly enough, I don't think i will be back on wow for some time. however, since I work at gamestop, I may have an easy (and cheat) time obtaining Wrath of the Litch king, and time cards. Then again, i have to check our stock to make sure we have any time cards to buy...either way, I'll rejoin as soon as possible. Oh, also, I have heard from Teri that people actually remember me. Not only that, but I had heard that people remembered how i wrote Lore for the Guild. I must admit, I am flattered to be remembered. I am tempted to restart the Rebel Scum story, but First of all, i must finish In game and pixelated...and start off a new story.
NEW STORY! Remember that Troll i put up in pixelated, chapter 18? Well, I got a lot of response from it. Some was good, Some was angry gamers saying "WTF, M4N!" Thus, I may start on a new story about this wasteland of a world. however, I must forst come up with a storyline, and that takes time. and considering my current...activities, cut me some slack, will ya?
New chapters! Allright, this is a post everyone probably has been dying for! New chapters for Pixelated and In Game will be released as so - I will be posting new chapters on Sundays. So, expect 1 new chapter for EACH story this coming saturday. And i promise you this! I made a freakin' schedule this week so i can get more done!

WoW Addict
Well, it's official - I'm re-installing World of Warcraft. What can i say? I grew up playing Blizzard games. Starcraft, Starcraft Brood War, Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, Warcraft 2, Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness, Warcraft 3, Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade...and tommorow I'm getting WoW : The Lich King. I Cant help it. I grew up with them. THey are one of the companies I idolize. I must admit, they have gone somewhat astray with the Warcraft storyline. However, I hope they can make it up with the newest installment of the warcraft series. Anyways, have posted as promised, a new In Game can be found under the index, and a new Pixelated can be found under chapter 18. Sorry for the confusion, for those of you who suffered with the Troll. Any trolls I shall make furthur on will fall under the Troll section, below the chapters, as you may have seen. So thus, if you feel like seeing some random storyline about zombies, mediclorians, and a Fallout 3 ripoff, enjoy! :D I'm gonna finish installing Burning Crusade, Update the damn thing, and then play some GOW2, Fable 2, or Fallout 3. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this weeks Chapters, I'm going to enjoy rotting my brains with some goood eatin' to boot!

Delayed Chapters, Gaming addiction, Google inability, and lazyness.
Well, the WoW addiction didn't last long. The game is great, don't get me wrong. However, I have played the game for over 4 years. It gets to the point where I wondered where my gaming would lead me if I would continue to just play the same genre and game over and over. Thus, I re-addicted myself to the 360, and have been playing games non-stop. Catching up on all these console games i missed is such a pain though. However, I love it ^ _ ^ Anyways, to the main topic at hand. As you can obviously see, I didn't write a chapter last weekend. Sorry about that, I was addicted to my games as my usual excuse is. However, I will make up for it. I plan to write a new chapter for each story this week. Also, I will be starting another troll in the In Game Area. Don't worry, this time I will not subside the real story with the troll. I will have the new chapters up by friday at midnight. Also, on the topic of the website - some of you may have noticed, but you cannot reach my site through any internet search engine. This was not originally intended. I have tried to figure out the source of this problem, but to no avail. If anyone who uses my website (and reads this for that matter) knows of a solution, please contact me. If you don't, i may just shrug and say "Fudge it." And make it so that this website is an internet slum - basically, you have to know of the site or know me to reach it. Now, on the topic of gaming addiction. I am currently addicted to Star wars: The force unleashed. A friend of mine lent it to me, and I have yet to play something else for quite a while (Besides the original Sonic games :D). Thus, if you want to, msg me through Live and Ill join you in Halo 3 or GOW2. Also, On the topic of lazyness, I am going to be swamped this weekend....in the form of an AWESOME PAPER OF AWESOME PROPORTIONS! I have been charged with writing a paper on the subject that "Absolute power corrupts absolutely." Originally, I had intended to prove that space and time are different for every minds different speed. Since that would have been a pain in the ass to write, I chose the Absolute Power topic. Either way, Awesome. Oh, and I have applied to MCC, and thus am going to take that "Promise" Program going on with the school. basically, if i maintain a good grade, i can ride through MCC scott free - knocking up my GPA and getting an assosiates degree. Currently choosing which would be more appropriate - Associates in science, or an associates in engineering science. Either way, I'm going into the gaming industry, and I'm going to do my best to develop some great games.

Postponment of this weeks chapters - sick, playing Command and Conquer: Red alert 3, and enjoying Moonshine
Truth of the matter is I get sick very easily. So far, I have been sick every 3 weeks this school year. It really sucks, especially if i want to go to Acen of 2009. The school might be a little....iffy about a regularly sick student going to a convention full of nerds clothed as their favorite characters. Either way, I am going to acen, don't get me wrong. Kareem and I have been planning this since my return from Acen last year. So expect me to be one of the people lining up on friday afternoon to get in! Anyways, onto the first topic - This weeks chapters. as some may have noted, I did upload the chapters that i missed posting last week. However, I havent made any for this weekend. Sick. You know. Anyways, I will be working my arse off for an english paper, so i hope you forgive me as I Dont post anything this weekend. I will likely make it up during the week, but forgive me...again. Anyways, I have been playing C&C: Red Alert 3. You know how i am. Even when sick, i have the urge to kill enemies. and it is fairly fun, i assure you. However, Reecently i have been looking into Dating sims more. They seem more...relaxing these days. Less...repetative. Currently, I am playing the Dating Sim Moonshine. Seems good so far. though i havent gone far enough to give it a complete rating. either way, it seems great. Oh. Almost forgot. Bad news hit this week. My editor had a Control-Alt-Terminate problem with his comp. He got a GIANT LIZARD virus. This GIANT LIZARD (If you dont get the joke, its from a spiderman game...) Wreaked havoc on his comp. So he is reformatting and will probably be back on Xfire in a couple of days. so....i guess i have another excuse for not posting this weeks chapter? Either way, forgive us! T _ T Heres some Daniel Floyd to entertain you.

Otakuism, Dating Sims, and working meh arse off.
Well, as predicted, my otakuism returned. I' watching anime like clockwork. Personally, i am loving Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka. It is an AWESOME ANIME!!!! There is awesome cosplay in it! Still have to go through my list though and find something new to watch. Anyways, thats nothing new. Well, I'm addicted to dating sims. I played through Moonshine (FREAKIN AWESOME!) I'll put a link up as soon as i update the chapters this week. On the topic of chapters, I am working my ass off. I've got a....nearly 5-8 page paper to finish. Been working on it since i got home. I'm covering the topic of power. Absolute Power corrupts absolutely. And so far, I AM FREAKIN LOVING THIS PAPER! Originally, i was spazzing my arse off. after all, i made of mess of a paper. however, I deleted my original paper, and have remade it from scratch. so far, this one feels awesome! Anyways, I better get back to work if i wanna finish a mass of it tonight!

Video Games, Acheivements, and a Happy New Years.
What a way to end off the year, eh? The election of our first African American President, the pleaing of financial aid by our Auto Industry (Which personally I laugh at, for a mass of their expenses in the past have included their own financial benifit), and massive sales of video games! Now, I am proud of the gaming industry. After all, it is the new entertainment form of choice. I just cant wait to see where it is going next. Personally, I can see the birth (again) of Virtual games. The programming would be a pain in the arse, but think of the abilities you could do with such a medium! Anyways, enough of my optomistic view of video games and their future. ACHIEVMENTS! Yes, it is true, i have become an addict to Microsoft. I love acheivements! THEY ARE FREAKIN FUN! It's almost as bad as World of Warcraft! Finally, Happy New years to everyone! As a finisher to this year, I published a chapter of Pixelated, and a Troll for In Game. dont worry, i'm not being as mean as i was before. Either way, enjoy reading them, and Can't wait to hear from everyone next year!
